This variety will help you feel full and energized throughout the day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>American Heart Association (<em>American Heart Association<\/em>) adults who regularly skip breakfast are more likely to be overweight and have higher rates of diabetes, heart disease, and high cholesterol. A healthy breakfast every day helps keep you energized and also provides your body with the nutrients it needs.<\/p>\n<h2>How to choose the right breakfast cereals?<\/h2>\n<p>Breakfast cereals can be a great choice, but you should check the nutrition label to see the fiber and sugar content. High-fiber cereals help keep you feeling full longer and help your digestive system function smoothly. \u201cTry to choose cereals that contain at least 5 grams of fiber per serving,\u201d recommends Dr. Mudita Malhotra, a family physician at Adventist Medical Group. \u201cAlso, some cereals, especially those made for children, contain almost as much sugar as your favorite candy bar.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Busy mornings<\/h2>\n<p>Many of us skip breakfast because we think we\u2019re in a rush and don\u2019t have time to eat. Dr. Malhotra recommends pre-prepping your breakfast so you can grab it before you leave the house. \u201cFor example, try making homemade breakfast sandwiches. You can keep them wrapped in foil in the fridge so you can easily take them with you in the morning and heat them up in the microwave at work,\u201d she says. \u201cAlso, instant oatmeal in a coffee mug is a high-fiber option that\u2019s easy to make and take with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever you choose, a healthy breakfast will help give you the energy you need in the morning and keep you going throughout the day.<\/p>\n<h2>Healthy breakfast alternatives<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Do you want to eat bread?<\/strong> Choose whole grain bread instead of white bread. Whole grains, which are higher in fiber, help you feel fuller for longer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Would you like juice?<\/strong> Choose juice that has no added sugars. Instead of regular orange juice, try cold-pressed juice.
